Hung Wah Teow Chew Porridge

I couldn't stop thinking about Hung Wah each time I returned to hometown, as the Teochew porridge they served are more than authentic. Forgive me for being to exaggerate over this place but trust me, this place is definitely serving fabulous authentic home-cooked-alike authentic Teochew porridge. Before introducing their dishes, this place had been serving the neighborhood for more than 50 years operated in a family business manner. You will love the way the owner count your bill when you are paying. Take note on that, cos only he will count it in a unique way and he rather sound like singing than counting. =)
Dish 1: Pork Intestine, my no.1 choice over Teochew porridge selection which shall not be eliminated. 
Dish 2: Braised Pork with Eggs
Dish 3: Lady Finger 
Dish 4: Salted Eggs
Dish 5: Braised Duck
Dish 6: Squid served in Special Sauce (The rather popular dish in the house but I don't quite enjoy it)
Dish 7: Fried Eggs with Beans
Dish 8 Kangkung Belacan
Dish 9: Braised Piggie Ears
Dish 10: Saute Bitter Gourd with Tausi Sauce
Dish 11: Saute Aubergine with  Dried Shrimp 
Dish 12: Beancurd in Special Braised Sauce

Old school enough to capture your attention. Working in a traditional family manner where the Teochew people are well known for their hardworking attitude.


(Portion for as many as 4-6 people but it was rather unique to have fat friends with you who knows exactly how to handle varieties rather than portion) WE ARE WISE!
